Trehani Wickramaratne is a Partner in the Firm’s Intellectual Property practice. An Attorney-at-Law of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka, she joined the Firm in 2010 and has since developed extensive experience across a broad range of intellectual property matters, with a particular focus on trademarks.

Current Practice

Trehani regularly advises both domestic and international clients on the registration, prosecution, renewal and protection of intellectual property rights. Her work includes assisting clients with trademark strategy, portfolio management and the effective maintenance of IP rights in Sri Lanka and other jurisdictions.

In addition to her trademark practice, Trehani is involved in matters relating to industrial designs, franchising, licensing and intellectual property transactions. She also advises clients on the commercialisation and management of intellectual property assets, including the structuring and review of arrangements involving the use, transfer and licensing of IP rights.

Trehani has experience in the enforcement of intellectual property rights through litigation and advises clients on contentious matters concerning the protection of their brands and other IP assets. Her approach combines legal analysis with practical and commercially focused advice tailored to each client’s business objectives.

Other Relevant Experience

She also represents the Firm at local and international intellectual property forums, including events organised by the Asian Patent Attorneys Association (APAA) and the International Trademark Association (INTA), contributing to the Firm’s engagement with developments and professional networks in the global IP community and industry developments.
