Krishanth Rajasooriyar is a Senior Associate in our Corporate & Commercial, Banking & Finance, and Labour & Employment practices. As an IT professional with over 15 years' experience, he brings a remarkable skill set and expertise to the legal field. This extensive experience has served him well in having a unique understanding of business and structuring corporate transactions efficiently towards achieving the goals of his clients. He is an Attorney-at-Law of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka and joined the Firm in 2015.
As part of the Corporate & Commercial practice, he handles all aspects of corporate law, including mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures, legal due diligences, cross border commercial transactions, foreign investments, franchises, labour and taxation matters, and provides general legal advice on doing business in Sri Lanka. He has been involved in several high value foreign direct investment to have taken placein Sri Lanka particularly over the past four years.
Krishanth advises clients on a range of corporate transactional matters including complex cross border M&A matters, security regulations, public offers of equity and debt securities, restructuring, liquidation / winding up, shareholder disputes, disputes amongst directors, and other corporate matters. He also regularly advises corporate employers on laws and regulations pertaining to labour & employment, recruitment, employment structuring, voluntary retirement schemes, and terminations.
Clients have appreciated his knack and talent for drafting and advising on bespoke agreements / documents for cross border transactions such as joint ventures, e-commerce transactions, software development & maintenance, EPCC (engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning), export sales, purchase and supply of goods and equipment from overseas suppliers, turnkey contracts for factories and other utilities, construction contracts and management contracts.
