Karunalatha is an Attorney-at-Law who joined the Firm in 2021 and currently serves as an Associate in the Intellectual Property practice. Her work encompasses a broad range of intellectual property matters, with a particular focus on trademarks.

She is responsible for managing trademark filings and responding to objections and refusals on behalf of both domestic and international clients. Her role includes preparing and reviewing documentation required for trademark applications, drafting submissions to authorities, and assisting clients throughout the registration process.

Karunalatha also advises clients on a range of trademark-related matters, including portfolio rationalisation, brand protection strategies, and the effective management of trademark portfolios. She works closely with clients to understand their commercial objectives and provides practical guidance tailored to their intellectual property needs.

Her experience includes coordinating with clients and relevant authorities to ensure that trademark applications and related matters are handled efficiently, accurately, and in accordance with applicable legal requirements.

Through her involvement in both contentious and non-contentious trademark matters, Karunalatha continues to develop experience in advising clients on the protection, maintenance, and strategic management of their trademark rights in Sri Lanka and internationally.
