Dylan Wijesuriya is an Associate in the Corporate & Commercial, Banking & Finance, and Litigation & Dispute Resolution practices at Varners. He is an Attorney-at-Law of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka and joined the firm in 2025.
Current Practice
He works closely with domestic and international clients on a broad range of corporate, commercial and regulatory matters, with a particular focus on transactional advisory, financing arrangements and complex commercial contracting.
Dylan is involved in the structuring, negotiation and implementation of commercial transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructurings, tax planning, entity formation in Sri Lanka and the Colombo Port City, and the preparation of a wide range of commercial agreements, including share purchase agreements, project financing agreements, master licensing agreements and hotel management agreements.
He is also involved in matters related to commercial dispute resolution, writ applications and right to information appeal hearings working with senior counsels as well as institutional arbitration proceedings, contributing to the representation of clients in complex commercial disputes.
Other Relevant Experience
Dylan also served as a Lecturer and Tutor for the Level 06 module of Conflict of Laws (Private International Law) for the University of London, Bachelor of Laws Program. He is also a co-founder of the Moot Court Bench, Sri Lanka's first fully integrated legal advocacy training platform dedicated to advancing advocacy through specialised training in international commercial arbitration, international commercial mediation and negotiation, and client consultation.
