Budara Liyanapathirana is an Associate in the Intellectual Property and Litigation & Dispute Resolution practices at Varners. She is an Attorney-at-Law of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka and joined the firm in 2025.

Current Practice

In the Intellectual Property practice, Budara works closely with clients on a range of trademark-related matters. Her work includes assisting with trademark applications, refusals and oppositions, conducting legal research, reviewing supporting material, and preparing written submissions in relation to the registration, protection and enforcement of trademark rights. She also supports the team on contentious intellectual property matters and related advisory work.

Budara is also actively involved in the firm’s Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice, where she assists clients on a broad range of disputes, including commercial litigation, land and property matters, testamentary disputes, tax matters and appeals. Her work includes legal research, case preparation, drafting pleadings and submissions, reviewing evidence and assisting with the conduct of proceedings before courts and tribunals.
